Visiting a church can be intimidating
But when it comes to Woodlawn, you can relax…
We're not perfect
That’s probably why we make such a close family, because we’re all sort of limping through life and growing in grace. We’re not evaluating you—when you walk in, we’re glad to see you! Don’t worry about having to measure up or fit in. None of us really measure up, and we’re all very different. Our family is very diverse, so fitting in isn’t an issue.
We're not very religous
Honestly, religion has let a lot of people down. Religious structures and systems are confusing, complicated, and disconnected from real life. We would love to help you move from “religion” into an authentic relationship with Jesus Christ. If you feel new to it all, that’s ok, our church is filled with new believers—we speak “beginner” fluently!
We speak plain English
We worship Jesus, study the Bible, and encourage each other in simple terms you’ll be able to connect to your daily life. We believe and teach what the Bible actually says and why it matters—no pointless traditions, no archaic languages, no droning or irrelevant lectures, no pious arrogance. We open the Bible and apply it to real life in the twenty-first century.
A lot of us are new
Most of our church family is new! We really are just regular, friendly people. “Religious” people often come off contrived, artificial, and argumentative. You won’t find that at Woodlawn. We’re like you—working hard, fighting for healthy relationships, looking for encouragement, and glad to have some good friends who also have faith in Jesus Christ.

How do I get to Woodlawn?
What happens when I arrive?
As you approach our High Point location you will see signs along the way to direct you to the entrance. You’ll also see our friendly greeters pointing the way to the worship service or to WBC kidz if you have children. More greeters will be available to answer any questions, hand you a program, and find you the best seat available when you get to the auditorium.
While you wait, feel free to enjoy the music, read about upcoming events up on the screens, and complete as much information as you feel comfortable sharing on the Connection Card in your program (which we’ll collect toward the end of the service).
What is the service like?
First of all, you won’t be pointed out or made to feel uncomfortable in any way. You will have a meaningful, stress-free experience…and you’ll have a lot of fun.
Each service is about 60 minutes. The first 15 minutes of the service you’ll get to enjoy some worship music led by our Worship Team and our choir. We’ll have the words to each song up on the screen, so you can sing as much as you feel comfortable!
Most adults attend at least one worship service where they enjoy the wonderful and spirited music of the choir, ensembles, and soloists. Also at 9:45am, there are Connection Groups these classes are smaller group settings where you are invited to meet people and hear a teaching lesson more directly applicable to your life-stage. The best way to get to know people at Woodlawn is to visit one of these Connection Groups.
After a short welcome from one of our pastors, there is usually another song or we’ll jump right into the day’s teaching. Each message/sermon is 30-35 minutes long and takes eternal Biblical principles and applies them to your life in some very real and practical ways.
Where do I take my children?
Starting with great nurseries, there is something special for every age child. At every service, there are two safe and clean nurseries for children four years old and under. For children five years old through sixth grade, there are fun, friendly, and Bible-centered classes located in our WBC KIDZ ZONE. These classes are staffed with trained, friendly, and well-qualified teachers and helpers who will make church exciting and memorable for your child.
We would like to help you find the appropriate nurseries, classes, and services for every person in your family. Our greeters and ushers are located around campus as well as in the foyer of the main worship center and will gladly help direct and even escort you to the right place.
How Should I Dress?
Whatever you want! We welcome jeans, t-shirts, ties, tuxedos…you get the idea. Come as you are. However, our main goal is that you would feel welcome and comfortable on your visit here at Woodlawn!
Am I Expected to Participate in the Offering?
No. We don't invite you to Woodlawn for your offering. We want our service to be a gift to you. We hope you will find in this place a warm family spirit, truth from God's Word, and a place where you can grow in God's grace. Please don't feel any obligation to participate in the offering as a guest.
